From the sunlit shores of Chalkida to the hills of Drosia, the story of Avantes Distillery is a tale of family, mastery, and timeless Greek spirit. Established in 1963 by Vasilios Katsos and his brother Spyros, the distillery began as a beloved local landmark where the people of Chalkida gathered to enjoy house-crafted ouzo, vermouth, brandy, and wine. Over the decades, what began as a humble workshop has evolved into a center of refined distillation — yet one thing remains: a commitment to authenticity and innovation.
In 2005, a new chapter began. Oenologist Chara Katsou, daughter of the founder, inherited the reins and breathed new life into the brand. With her scientific precision and artistic vision, she modernized the facilities and introduced bold, original creations — none more iconic than Grace Gin.

Grace Gin is not merely a spirit; it is a distilled tribute to Greece — its landscapes, herbs, coastlines, and creativity. Made using the traditional method of copper pot distillation, this is a true “distilled gin,” where technique meets inspiration and craft embraces fragrance.
Its distinct personality comes from a rare palette of Greek botanicals:
Juniper berry leads with bold clarity
Rock samphire (kritamo) and mastiha (mastic resin) bring a salty, aromatic breath from sea and land
Peppercorns, cinnamon, and myrtle flowers add complexity, warmth, and a whisper of the unexpected
Every batch of Grace Gin is handcrafted, beginning with a neutral grain spirit that is aromatized through carefully curated botanical infusion. The result is a gin that is elegant yet powerful, with 45.7% ABV, crystalline purity, and an aromatic intensity that rivals the work of perfumers.
