On the west coast of Evia below Mount Telethrio, is the spa town of Edipsos. Arriving in the capital of the island, Chalkida, then moving north for a distance of 120 km, one reaches Loutra  of Edipsos. The route is magnificent, with dense pine forest and coastal landscapes. Alternatively, there is also access via the Arkitsa ferry, directly opposite Central Greece.

Edipsos has been an important thermal center since antiquity due to its thermometallic springs, which are considered beneficial for the treatment of rheumatic problems, chronic inflammation and other diseases. In Roman times, it was a cosmopolitan resort with many visitors and still, to this day, its thermal springs retain their glamor and cure many ailments.
